Here is a list of the main dances that we offer. We are always open to suggestions for new dances.

Gay Gordons: The traditional opening dance for a ceilidh. This lively yet elegant, couple's dance sets the mood.

Strip The Willow: A lively set dance, involving a lot of spinning!
Orcadian strip the Willow: The Orcadians make the dance even more lively,the size of the set is only limited by the size of the hall.

Virginia Reel: Knees up for a good old fashioned Hoe down

Military Two Step: Heel toe, Jump Kick, Polka - just watch you don't kick your partner in the shin or it could be the end of a beautiful relationship!
Tunes: Portree Bay, Angus McKinnon, The Heights Of Casino

Circassian Circle: a large set dance, which as the name suggests, is danced in a circle.
Tunes: Cicassian Circle, Staten Island, Flowers Of Edinburgh, East Neuk Of Fife, The White Cockade

Highland Barn Dance: Lots of hopping, kicking and clapping.
Tunes: The Steamboat, The Westcoaster, Galway Hornpipe, Navie On The Line

           Major Manson's Farewell to Clachantrushal, Brodick Castle

Highland Scottishe: A lively dance for couples, very popular on the west coast

Flying Scotsman: A nice easy set dance for 4 couples.

Sleat

Dashing White Sergeant: A must for any Scots ceilidh, this is a progressive dance for sets of three. 'Heeeuchs!', and foot stomping optional.

St Bernard's Waltz: A graceful couple dance.

Slow Waltz: No explanation required
Tune: Maggie's Waltz, Skye Glen Waltz

Swedish Masquerade: A courtly dance for couples danced in different tempos
Tune: Swedish Masquerade

Eightsome Reel: An intricate reel dance for four couples. Please let us know beforehand if you wish to dance this.
